In many companies, indirect procurement is scattered across departments and sites, and information on prices, specifications, suppliers, and contracts is underused. At the same time, placing specialists in every category and building a separate system for each is unrealistic for most companies.
Procurement Lab researches ways to combine human procurement experience with AI so that companies can use the purchasing capability they need, when they need it. Topics include visualizing spend data, standardizing specifications, creating / distributing RFPs and analyzing responses, organizing supplier information, and — in the future — joint purchasing across multiple companies. We start small, with public information and fictional data, and look for what is genuinely useful through dialogue with people who face these problems.
